Moscow: Far east of Russia, in the Kamchatka region, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was felt.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Russian Academy of Sciences stated that the earthquake’s epicenter was 120 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the region’s administrative hub and home to more than 160,000 people. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 39 km.

The earthquake has not been associated with any reports of fatalities, injuries, or material damage.

A 7-magnitude earthquake struck the same area last Saturday, and the Shiveluch volcano erupted the next day
