5G summit opens in Amman

The 5G Summit, a key event for the technology and communications sectors, kicked off yesterday in Amman, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society. This summit, organized by the Arab Advisors Group, a leading provider of research and analysis in the communication and media sectors, offers an opportune platform for industry leaders, tech innovators, and experts to collaborate and explore the myriad of possibilities offered by 5G technology. HRH Princess Sumaya highlighted the rapid acceleration of the 5G network launch, emphasizing the need for swift and effective action to ensure policy-making and regulation keep pace. She discussed the considerable potential of the fifth-generation network, noting its potential contribution of trillions of dollars to global economic growth. “The 5G network is poised to revolutionize industries, from creating new job opportunities and sparking innovation, to transforming healthcare, education, and transportation systems,” she explained. Moreover, Princess Sumaya underlined the importance of prompt synchronization of legislative frameworks and business models, calling on governments and industries to mitigate potential risks. She urged a stronger focus on renewable energy, recycling, and waste reduction to ensure all aspects of the 5G revolution are supported by thoughtful life-cycle planning. Fayez Abu Awad, Principal Advisor of the Arab Advisors Group, commented on the importance of the summit, stating, “The Fifth Generation Summit in Amman represents a significant milestone for the Arab Advisors Group and for the entire telecommunications community.” He expressed pride in the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan and anticipates enriching discussions that will shape the future of 5G technology in the region. Several local and international companies and stakeholders joined the summit, adding a strategic dimension to the event. The summit is expected to catalyze the telecommunications sector in the region and unveil the transformative potential of 5G technology. The Arab Advisors Group has strengthened its partnerships with regional and international organizations sharing a vision for the future of 5G technology, including the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in Jordan, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, the Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies “Intaj”, and the South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa Communications Council “SAMENA”. The summit included insightful panel sessions and keynote speeches by leaders in the telecom industry, telecom companies, regulators, and technology providers, further bolstering its importance on the global communications stage.
