384,000 housing units damaged in Israeli shelling on Gaza

GAZA: The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics announced that 384,000 housing units have been damaged due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip since 7th October 2023.

In a statement issued today, coinciding with World Habitat Day and Arab Housing Day, the Bureau clarified that approximately 297,000 housing units sustained partial damage, while the number of completely destroyed units reached 87,000.

It highlighted that 81 percent of families in the West Bank live in homes owned by family members, while 8 percent of families reside in rented accommodation. Additionally, 11 percent of families live rent-free or in exchange for labour.
