MANAMA: The 33rd Arab Summit kicked off today at Al Sakhir Palace in Bahrain’s capital, Manama.
Chairing the summit is His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who will succeed Saudi Arabia as Chair of the Summit.
The opening session featured Saudi Arabia passing on the Summit’s Presidency to Bahrain, as well as speeches by Arab leaders and guests.
The following session will see the adoption of the draft summit agenda, draft resolutions and the Bahrain Declaration, which will be announced during the closing session.
