Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, on Sunday announced launch of the activities of the Kingdom’s summer centers for memorizing the Holy Qur’an for 2024.
Speaking at the inaugurating ceremony, Khalayleh affirmed the ministry’s “keenness” to teach and memorize the Holy Qur’an round the year.
Khalayleh added that the ministry has annually held those free-of-charge summer centers at the beginning of the school summer vacation to consolidate the Holy Qur’an’s values ??and virtues in our lives.
In 2024, he noted the ministry’s initiative aims to instill adhere Holy Qur’an’s morals and teach youth values of forgiveness, tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance of others.
The minister called on school students to join these 3,000 centers in the Kingdom’s various governorates, which would focus on His Majesty King Abdullah II’s initiative to fully memorize the Holy Qur’an , as well as cultural and religious competitions and sports activities.
Concluding activities in a
graduation ceremony, he said awards,gifts and certificates will be distributed to the winning students.
The ministry posted on its website and social platforms the centers’ details to help families and students identify the nearby locations, which will continue to operate until mid-August.
The summer centers witnessed a “remarkable” turnout from students, as about 170,000 beneficiaries took part last year, the ministry said.
