BERRI BROACHES CURRENT SITUATION, LATEST POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS WITH AIN EL-TINEH INTERLOCUTORS AND VISITORS

House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday welcomed at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh,

Jaafarite Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan.

Speaker Berri also received in Ain El-Tineh, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Public Works, Transport, Energy and Water Committee, MP Sajih Attieh.

Discussions between the pair reportedly touched on the current general situation, political and field developments, in addition to an array of developmental and legislative affairs.

Berri later met in Ain El-Tineh with former Vice Speaker Elie Ferzli, with whom he broached the current situation and political developments.

MP FRANGIEH BROACHES LATEST DEVELOPMENTS WITH ALGERIAN AMBASSADOR, RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND GOVERNANCE NETWORK

MP Tony Frangieh on Tuesday welcomed at his Beirut office, the Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Rachid Belbaki, in the presence of MP Frangieh’s Advisor, attorney Antoine Fenianos.

During the meeting, discussions reportedly touched on the latest field developments in southern Lebanon and Gaza.

The Lebanese political reality was also presented, with an emphasis on the necessity of fulfilling the presidential election as a gateway to the regularity of public and constitutional life in Lebanon.

Emphasis was also made on the importance of the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Algeria, especially after the issuance of the new investment law in Algeria, according to a statement from Frangieh’s media office.

On the other hand, MP Frangieh met with a delegation from the Digital Transformation and Governance Network in Lebanon.

During the meeting, discussions reportedly touched on some laws related to the digital transformation field.

The delegation handed MP Franjieh an invitation to participate in the sci
entific conference that will be held at the House of Parliament, which will focus on the Lebanese laws related to governance and digital transformation.

SINIORA DISCUSSES GENERAL SITUATION WITH QATARI AMBASSADOR

Former Prime Minister, Fouad Siniora, on Tuesday welcomed at his Beirut’s Bliss office, Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani.

The pair reportedly discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the region from various aspects, in addition to following up on some charitable projects sponsored by Qatar in Lebanon.

PM : North Coast icon to attract foreign investments


Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted that the North Coast of Egypt is one of the key icons that can attract direct foreign investments and is a global tourist destination.

In his speech during a conference declaring an investment partnership project between the state and the private sector, Madbouli said that the state is keen on making the North Coast the destination to focus on to enlarge the tourism sector and create a big number of hotel and tourism rooms in the region.

This was declared in Egypt Vision 2030 and the national strategic plan of Egypt which aim at doubling the number of tourists in Egypt, Madbouli said.

Madbouli said that the North Coast with its atmosphere and land nature will be one of the key places to become home to future generations.

Madbouli said there must be enough job opportunities for youth to encourage them to live in the North Coast so a group of major integrated projects were implemented including New Alamein city.

Madbouli also said that Ras el Hekma project, which i
s one of the biggest integrated developmental tourist real estate investment projects with the UAE, was declared.

Today we announce the South Med project on the western North Coast, he said.

Until 2030, Egypt is capable to attract at least double the number of tourists, he said.

South Med project along with New Alamein and Ras el Hekma are expected to attract millions of foreign tourism to Egypt, he said, adding that these projects will provide direct and indirect job opportunities and attract youth to live in the area.

16,000 tons of goods handled at Red Sea Ports


About 16,000 tons of goods were handled at the different Red Sea harbors on Tuesday, the Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA) said.

In a statement, the RSPA said the imports included 6,500 tons of goods, 477 trucks and 292 cars, while the exports included 9,500 tons of goods, 452 trucks and 23 cars.

Safaga Port received three vessels, while one other set sail from the harbor, read the statement.

About 2,250 tons of goods and 295 trucks were handled at Nuweiba Port, the statement added.
