13 local companies specialized in the food industry will begin their participation in the SIAL Paris, an international food exhibition, which will open on October 19 in the French capital.

According to the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), which coordinates local participation in the event, the partiticapting companies work in sub-sectors of food industries in dairy, cheese, chocolate, oriental desserts, soft beverages, candy and nuts.

In a statement Saturday, JEA Chairman, Ahmed Khudari, said SIAL Paris, which lasts for 5 days, is an “important” food exhibition globally, indicating that Jordan’s participation comes from the association’s keenness to promote industrial products and seek to open new markets for local companies to contribute to increase exports.

Khudari added that the JEA is “keen” to provide a platform for Jordanian exporters to enhance their presence in European markets, stressing that France is an “important” gateway for Jordanian industrial products to cross into African markets, espec
ially with the presence of African businessmen participating in the event.

Furthermore, he noted the exhibition is a “key” commercial platform for exchanging ideas and learning about the latest developments in the food manufacturing field in light of the size of participation from different countries of the world, noting the presence of 7,500 exhibitors representing 130 countries.

Within its goals, he noted the JEA continues to provide services to industrialists from various sectors to find export markets for their products by attending in global exhibitions and holding workshops to identify ways to benefit from the advantages of trade agreements that link the Kingdom with international trade blocs.
