1,127 attacks carried out by the occupation and its settlers during May

Ramallah – Ma’an – The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee, Moayed Shaaban, said that the Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 1,127 attacks during the month of last May.

Shaaban explained in the commission’s monthly report on ‘violations of the occupation and colonial expansion measures’ that the occupation forces carried out 906 attacks, while the colonists carried out 221 attacks, concentrated in the Jerusalem Governorate with 182 attacks, the Hebron Governorate with 180 attacks, and the Nablus Governorate with 179 attacks.

He explained that the occupying state is not satisfied with carrying out waves of terrorist attacks against citizens wherever they are, but rather reinforces them with a set of decisions and legislation that give the colonists more powers to seize land and impose new realities.

He pointed out that the settlers’ attacks were concentrated in the Nablus Governorate with 75 attacks, the Bethlehem Governorate with 27 attacks, and the Ramallah, Al-Bireh and
Hebron Governorates with 25 attacks each.

He added that last May, the colonists stole 44 heads of sheep and cows, and seized surveillance camera recordings, an agricultural tractor, a horse, a vehicle, a truck, and agricultural tools. The Commission also documented five thefts of agricultural crops.

New buffer zone in Bethlehem

The Commission’s report indicated that the occupation authorities seized an area of ??5.7 dunums of land from the villages of Nahalin and Al-Jaba’a in the Bethlehem Governorate, under the pretext of ‘seizure for military purposes.’

He stated that this military order is considered an actual implementation of the buffer zones plan proposed by the extremist occupation Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, bringing the number of buffer zones established by the occupying state since the seventh of last October to four.

He stated that this military order targets the lands surrounding the “Giv’ot” colony, which was established on Nahalin lands, in the Bethlehem Governorate.

8 structural p
lans for settlements in the West Bank

The commission’s report stated that the occupation authorities studied 8 structural plans for settlements in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and approved 3 plans, two of which were in Jerusalem, while 5 other plans were submitted.

He pointed out that these colonial plans targeted a total of 300 dunums of citizens’ lands, most of which surround the ‘Maale Adumim’ colony established on the lands of the Jerusalem Governorate.

The report pointed out that during the same month, it was announced that an executive order had been issued by the Minister of the Occupation Army allowing the colonists to return to building in the three evacuated colonies in the northern West Bank: ‘Kadim,’ ‘Ghanim,’ and ‘Sanur,’ which is similar to an order issued A year ago, colonization was allowed to return to the ‘Homesh’ colony, in the northern West Bank.

He said that the occupying state ignores all international laws that criminalized colonialism and the behavior of the occupying power,
and most importantly, the blatant challenge to the international position, which is represented by the wave of recognition by the countries of the world of the State of Palestine, through recent decisions that reinforce colonialism and again tamper with Palestinian geography with clear intent. To eliminate the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state in the future.

47 demolition operations affected 66 homes and facilities

The report explained that the occupation authorities carried out 47 demolition operations, affecting 66 facilities, including 35 inhabited homes, 5 uninhabited, and 15 agricultural facilities and others, concentrated in the governorates of Jerusalem, Hebron, and Bethlehem.

In the same month, the occupation authorities also issued a total of 29 demolition notices for Palestinian facilities, concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Jericho, Al-Aghwar, and Hebron.
