As many as 10 companies and consortiums have selected as qualified bidders for a project to manage and operate an under-establishment public company for electric vehicle (EVs) charging stations.

During a meeting at the premises of the Ministry of the Public Business Sector on Saturday 09/04/2022, a committee made up of the company’s founding members reviewed the application documents submitted by 14 prequalified companies/consortiums following the bid call issued by the ministry in March.

The selection process was based on applicants’ expertise as well as financial solvency, according to a statement released by the ministry.

The ministry is working on the bidding arrangements, including the brochures stipulating bidding terms and conditions, the statement said.

The project is part of the ministry’s endeavors to develop the charging infrastructure necessary for electric vehicles to complement another project for making different types of EVs, in cooperation with European and Asian companies.
